Jeff Kirby
Managing Member and Co-Chief Investment Officer
Following employment at Morgan Stanley, Bankers Trust and Alleghany Corporation, Jeff Kirby founded Broadfield Capital in 2003 and has managed the investment program since inception. Jeff has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industries. He served on the Board of Directors of Alleghany beginning in 2006 and as Chair of the Board of Directors from July 2010 until October 2022. Alleghany was a publicly traded company that owned and managed operating subsidiaries and investments, anchored by a core position in property and casualty reinsurance and insurance. It continues as a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which acquired Alleghany in October 2022. In addition, Jeff has served on numerous corporate and charitable boards, continuing to sit on those of the F. M. Kirby Foundation, Lafayette College and The Lawrenceville School. Jeff holds a BA from Lafayette College and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Walker Kirby
Co-Chief Investment Officer
Walker Kirby is based in San Francisco and is responsible for originating, evaluating and managing Broadfield Capital’s private equity opportunities. Prior to joining Broadfield Capital, Walker served as Director of Go-to-Market Strategy at ZoomInfo from August 2021 to October 2022. He also worked as a private equity investor at TA Associates from July 2018 to July 2021 and began his career in the investment banking division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Walker holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University.
